The Creation of a Johnathan Behr Bespoke Suit
As told by the designer himself
The First Meeting: During the first meeting, I get to know you and your clothing needs and concerns. I suggest appropriate fabrics and styles to give your suit that perfect fit. Once the fabric and the cut of the suit have been determined, I take a series of detailed measurements. At this meeting, I take a 50% deposit on your order. The balance is due at the completion of your suit. First meetings usually take 30-60 minutes.
The Second Meeting (The "Basted Fitting."): This meeting is the most important aspect in creating an authentic bespoke suit. Once I have received your fabric, my expert tailors begin cutting your initial pattern from your measurements. Then, we prepare a "basted fitting” where my tailors and I create your very own personal pattern on paper. The paper pattern is laid on top of the fabric, cut, and then is simply "basted" together. At the basted fitting, you may try the un-finished suit while you and I do a thorough investigation of how the fabric falls on your body, how it feels when you move, and if the suit feels too tight or loose. Along with looking spectacularly dashing, I will make sure you are feeling comfortable in your bespoke custom tailor suit. After our second meeting, my tailors and I will make the final adjustments to your pattern.
The Third Meeting: This last meeting is the most exciting for the both of us. It is the delivery and final fitting of the finished suit. At this time, some minor adjustments may be needed to make it perfect. However, for the majority of the time, no modifications are needed. We may discuss ways to enhance your suit with pocket squares, ties, or cufflinks.
Please Note: Johnathan Behr Bespoke Suits typically take 3 - 4 weeks to complete. Rush orders of one week can be accommodated except on rare occasions. There is a 10% surcharge for rush orders.
