FAQ
How long does it take to make a suit?
Because all of my suits are made in my Los Angeles shop and are not farmed out to out-of-state or overseas contractors, a typical time frame is 3 -4 weeks.
How does the process work?
It takes a minimum of 3 meetings to make a bespoke suit. Here is a breakdown of each meeting:
1.The first meeting is where I get to know you and your clothing needs and then suggest appropriate fabrics and styles (the cut of the jacket and pant etc.) to meet those needs to perfection. Once the fabric and cut of the suit have been determined I take a series of detailed measurements and the fabric is ordered.
At this time I take a 50% deposit on your order. The balance is due at the completion of your suit. First meetings usually take 30-60 minutes. At this time a follow-up meeting is set for your basted fitting.
2. The second meeting is the "basted fitting" and is the most important aspect in delivering a true bespoke suit. Once we receive your fabric, we begin cutting your initial pattern and preparing a "basted fitting". A basted fitting is where we have begun to create your very own personal pattern on paper. The paper pattern is laid on top of the fabric and cut and then is simply "basted" together so that we may try the un-finished suit on your body and perfect the fit and your pattern. After the basted fitting we make the final adjustments to your pattern and then we complete your new bespoke suit.
3. The third meeting is the delivery and final try-on of the finished suit. At this time some final minor adjustments may be needed to make it perfect, but the majority of the time the suit will be finished and fitting beautifully ready for it's public debut.
The entire process normally takes 3 meetings and 3 -4 weeks to complete. Rush orders of one week can be accomodated except on rare occasions. There is a 10% sur-charge for rush orders.

What does "Bespoke" mean?
Bespoke means made expressly for you. It is the Brits' fancy way of saying custom-made, or custom-made suit. It also means hand-tailored, bench-made suit that is fitted before it is finished.
How much does a suit cost?
The price of a suit is determined by the cost of the fabric. Nothing is more important to the successful creation of your bespoke suit than the choice of fabric. It doesn't matter how good the tailor is. If you choose the wrong fabric you will surely be disappointed with the finished garment. A great suit starts with a great fabric and it is my responsibility to make sure I recommend the perfect fabric for your lifestyle and budgetary needs.
Suits typically start (for an average sized person) around $2000 and can run as much as $3500. Suit fabrics are categorized by the quality of the wool cloth starting with Super 100's, Super 110's, Super 120's, Super 130's, Super 150's, Super 180's and Super 200's. Generally speaking the higher the thread count the higher the price of the suit.
That said, I represent the fabric collections of numerous fabric companies, and the price for a Super 130's wool cloth can vary greatly from mill to mill. The big name mills such as Lora Piana, Holland & Sherry or Dormeuil tend to charge a premium for their fabrics because they have the famous name and legacy of excellence to command higher prices than lesser-known mills. That doesn't mean those lesser-known mills fabrics don't compare to the bigger, more famous mills. You really just have to feel and compare the different cloth options-which are numerous! I also can offer close-out specials on high-end fabrics that can help you save hundreds of dollars on the final price.
